Internal Paddle

An automated internal calibration feature is implemented by use of

an internal paddle mechanism, which is incorporated within the

Sensor. Black and White Reference materials are mounted within

the Sensor on the paddle assembly and are positioned in front of the

Reflectance Port. The purpose of the internal calibration paddle is to

minimize any instrumental drift caused by aging and/or laboratory

conditions. The internal calibration is reset when you calibrate with

the external standard (Puck). With each sample measurement you

make, the internal standards are also read and corrections are made

for any instrumental drifts that might have occurred.
