CHAPTER 2

INSTALLATION

2.1 CHAPTER OVERVIEW

This chapter provides procedures and directions for installing the

color-view™ Spectrophotometer.

The hardware system is composed of two major components: the

Spectrophotometer and the Host Computer. These two components

MUST BE properly installed and integrated to achieve accurate and

reliable system operation.

The Host Computer with its associated peripherals is not

manufactured by BYK-Gardner USA. The Host Computer has its

own installation and check-out procedures. For details on the Host

Computer, see the documentation supplied by the manufacturer. The

integration of the Spectrophotometer with the Host Computer –

described in section 2.3.3.4 - - assumes that the Computer System

has been properly installed and checked out.
