3.0 Cupping Test

Carry out the cupping test as follows:

• Insert a test panel (max. thickness

1 mm) into the the cylinder opening.

• Turn the eccentric clamping ring

(10) to slightly clamp the test panel.

• Press the START button

K and

closely watch the sample through

the stereo microscope.

• With the ﬁ rst visible crack of the

paint ﬁ lm on the test panel press the

STOP button and read the cupping

value from the digital display.

• Press the REVERSE button

L to

move back the indenter.

• After the indenter reaches the initial

position, loosen the eccentric

fastening device and take out the

test panel.
