The Equation
The equation for reflection haze is:
H = K x lg (linear haze value/20 + 1).
In order to achieve a logarithmical haze
value of 1000 at a linear value of 100
haze units, the constant k = 1285.1 is
used.

For the measurement of reflection haze,
2 additional apertures c (width = 1.8°)
are positioned on either side of the 20°
specular gloss aperture. This allows for
the measurement of the diffusely
scattered light adjacent to the 20°
specular angle.
Note
The reflection haze value is displayed
logarithmically
in order to correspond as close as
possible with the visual perception of
reflection haze by the human eye.
in order to achieve a higher sensitivity
in the case of low haze values.
(The lower the haze value, the better
the surface quality.)
